For a patient who is suffering from kidney stone, there is a treatment for passing of kidney stone. The constituents, location and the dimention of the kidney stones affects the spontaneous passage of stones. Kidney stones that are less than 4 mm in diameter and lie in the lower ureter region, have a 90% change of passing. In contrast, stones greater than 6 mm in diameter have only a 20% chance of passing spontaneously.
The Surgical Treatment contain following types of surgery for passing of kidney stones. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, which is called as ESWL. In this shock wave treatment, a particular machine is used by the doctor to send shock waves in a straight line to the kidney stone. So that waves helps to break the large stones into small pieces and then these small pieces flow and exerts from your urinary system of your body in the form of urine. Second method is percutaneous nephrolithotomy-lithotripsy; third, one is Endourology which is endoscopic removal or manipulation and Open surgery.
Medical study states that 95% of stones can be removed without an incision employing the first three surgical treatment procedures. The technique, risk, benefits, success and potential complication vary, thus I would advise you to discuss these with your urologist. ESWL is one of the most popular techniques today. It works by using shock waves to fragment your stone into small pieces (sand-like) that pass freely through the urinary tract. The urologist looks directly into the ureter during the endourologic procedures, and manipulates and retrieves the stone with small instruments. Both of these procedures are low risk, highly successful, and usually done as day surgery on an outpatient basis.
Passing of kidney stones does not form again in our urine. Without proper treatment, after a stone has passed, or surgically removed or disintegrated by ESWL, the rate of recurrence is approximately 50%. On the other hand, with proper surgical and medical treatment the recurrence rate can be reduced to 10% or less. However, in order to select proper medical management after treating urinary calculi it is imperative that the individual undergo a thorough medical evaluation of the urinary stone.
Urinary stone medical evaluations go through following stages of that patient. These stages are detailed medical history, physical examination, urine and blood test, kidney x-ray and ultrasound.
There is only possibility of kidney stones to wash out . These kidney stones can not be dissolved in our urine. Many types of of kidney stones are made up of calcium and hence they cannot be dissolved easily; however, stones caused by uric acid and cystine are easily dissolved.
There are various natural, home remedie, which are used as preventive measures for removing kidney stones. These remedies are drinking of 8 to 12 glasses of water per day. For preventing the kidney stone from formations, you have to develop a habit of taking plenty of fluid in the form of water and fruit juices. This is one of the helpful natural remedies for kidney stones. This utilization of water in acute level helps to break the stones for melting steadily with urine. A balanced diet which should be free from calcium supplement. A proper stone medication from doctor and close follow-up by your doctor.
